Alliance Area Preservation Society
The Alliance Area Preservation Society has acquired, restored and preserved the Haines House in order to establish a multicultural museum to be used to address the educational, historical and social needs of the Alliance community. The Alliance Area Preservation Society has made the Haines House an accessible resource for the community that celebrates Alliance History, African-American History, and the Underground Railroad. The Society's Educational Committee uses the house as a base for research and be an interactive facility for learning.
Alliance Historical Society
The Alliance Historical Society was founded for the promotion of historical studies of the City of Alliance and its surrounding areas. Members of the Society collect, preserve, and organize historical materials and work with area schools and community organizations to present historical programs. The home of the Alliance Historical Society is the Mabel Hartzell Historical Home. Exhibits of historical materials are supplied by the Society for display at local businesses and public buildings. Members of the Society are also available for talks and slide shows at area clubs and meetings.
Castle Crusaders raise money for the enhancement, preservation and protection of Glamorgan Castle. This unique historic complex consisting of Glamorgan Castle and 20-1/2 acres on which it is located, is the property of the Alliance City School District. Today, Glamorgan Castle serves as the central administration building for the Alliance City School District with all central administrative offices housed within the building. Each year, thousands of visitors tour Glamorgan Castle and continue to admire the beauty and uniqueness envisioned by Col. William Henry Morgan almost a century ago.
